My contribution

Built the review application and iterated on rate setup, exception handling, approvals, and correction workflows with operational users.

How it works

  1. Read confirmation terms and weekly timesheets.
  2. Resolve effective dates, facility context, and rate rules; calculate a proposed weekly result.
  3. Show exceptions and supporting evidence, then capture a human approval snapshot.
  4. Use the approved result for manual payroll entry.

Decisions that mattered

Approval is a durable event

An approval preserves the terms and calculation used at that moment. Revoking it requires a reason; a later rate edit must not silently rewrite approved history.

Block ambiguous overlaps

Distinct timesheets stay distinct. Same-day overlaps block approval until someone resolves them, and canceled work is excluded from payable work.

Make corrections narrow

One-week overrides require a reason. Manual adjustments remain separate from computed base pay, so reviewers can see exactly what changed.

Reject stale approvals

The four-step rate setup moves from confirmation to rates, effective date/facility, and approval. A prepared rate identifier prevents an older screen from approving newly changed terms.

Results

As of October 6, 2026: 40 approved provider-weeks across 14 providers (test data excluded). Later October logs show continued work on approvals and rate corrections.

Scope & limits

Payroll entry stays manual: the app doesn’t write to payroll, accounting, the ATS, or the vendor management system.
