Refreshable performance dashboard

Took over a one-off dashboard and made it a refreshable, access-controlled app with a deterministic data pipeline.

Took over & extendedProductionDocumented September 4, 2026

My contribution

Inherited a one-off dashboard and engineered its authenticated refresh, deterministic data pipeline, validation, and recovery behavior.

Tools
FastAPI · Microsoft Graph · SharePoint · Supabase Auth · Entra

How it works

  1. Authorize the viewer and distinguish viewing from refresh privileges.
  2. Download the permitted workbook to temporary storage.
  3. Parse and validate a candidate snapshot using explicit configuration.
  4. Promote the complete snapshot atomically and clean up temporary files.

Decisions that mattered

Refresh without a model

The regular refresh path uses deterministic parsing rather than asking a model to reinterpret the workbook each time.

Keep the last good result

A failed download or validation leaves the prior durable snapshot available instead of replacing it with partial data.

Organization membership is not access

Explicit application grants control entry; viewer and refresh-admin roles have different permissions.

Results

The September 4, 2026 production record documents the move from a static artifact to a refreshable app backed by a selected SharePoint workbook.

Scope & limits

Employee-level values and private workbook configuration are left out.
